UOA Sites
United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. This is the main web site for the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. This is an association of affiliated, non-profit support groups for ostomates. When the original UOA ceased operations, this organization was formed to contine the efforts of the local support groups.
United Ostomy Association This is the main web site for the United Ostomy Association The UOA will cease operations on Sept. 30, 2005, so this link will likely stop working shortly after that date. The UOAA site above is descended from this site/organization.
Evansville, Indiana chapter of the UOA This is the website for the Evansville, Indiana chapter of the United Ostomy Association. This is considered one of the larger and better maintained websites for ostomates.

United Ostomy Association of Canada Inc. (UOAC) Online This site is maintained by United Ostomy Association of Canada Inc. and contains quite a bit of good information for ostomates. They also sell more in-depth publications for those who like paper documentation.
Winnipeg Ostomy Association This is the website for the Winnipeg Ostomy Association (one of the daughter chapters of the United Ostomy Association of Canada Inc.
Toronto chapter of UOA of Canada This is the web site of Ostomy Toronto (a chapter of the United Ostomy Association of Canada, Inc.)

International Ostomy Association The International Ostomy Association hosts this website. The IOA is an association of ostomy associations around the world and is based in England. This is a pretty good starting point for exploring the work of ostomy groups outside the U.S.

National Cancer Institute This is a U.S. government sponsored site that holds lots of reference data on cancer. Many of the links are to recent publications about the various subjects. This is a well-organized site.

This website is maintained by the Royal Marsden Hospital and is oriented to new patients or potential patients with cancer. It contains booklets about cancer and related treatments including colostomies.
Factsheets on medical conditions
The BUPA factsheet on stoma care
This web site is maintained by BUPA (a health care organization from the UK)and contains lots of information about various medical conditions. Note that it originates in the United Kingdom, and so the .pdf files are formatted to print on A4 paper rather than our letter sized paper, so they may not look quite right if you print them.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Crohn's Disease This is the starting page at About.Com for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Crohn's Disease. This site is supported by ads, so expect lots of pop-ups, etc.
Lance Armstrong Foundation This website is hosted by the Lance Armstrong Foundation and is dedicated to providing support to cancer survivors, patients, and their families. This site has links to resources, inspirational stories, and many other related topics.

SupportPath Ostomy Page SupportPath maintains a website with useful links to forums, etc. about various health, personal, and relationship issues. This is their page of resources related to Ostomies. In particular, they have links to a number of forums, mailing lists, chat groups, organizations, and reference material.
Personal Sites
Shaz's Ostomy Pages This is a web site maintained by Sharon from Perth, Western Australia. This website is maintained by an individual, and sponsored by donations and some advertising, so you will see requests for donations, etc. The site is written with a personal touch, and can be more friendly than some of the "professional" sites on the web.
Humorous IBD/Ostomy stories This site is maintained by an individual and is basically a collection of humorous stories told by patients with IBD and ostomates about things that have happened to them. It is a wonderfully uplifting site. One note of importance... you will be prompted to install Comet Cursor. I recommend AGAINST installing this product because it monitors your web surfing habits and reports them back to advertisers. You can enjoy the site without installing Comet Cursor by choosing "NO" when it prompts you.

Diet information for ostomates This is dietary information oriented toward ostomates maintained at Dietsite.com. Note that there are often errors when you try to view the page, but if you click past those, the information is pretty good.
